			During the course of the Revision, the Foundation demanded that Gailen design at least one battery ship with movable charged-particle cannons so that traditional fleet tactics would not have to be abandoned all together. The only specification provided was that it include at minimum eight guns. Traditionally, this would require the use of a long hull design and 2-4 large turrets.

			Gailen effectively took their requirements and spat on them, instead designing a ship which housed all eight cannons in a common structure, housed along the center line of the ship. This single "turret" would have a single fire-control room, and was designed to launch a full volley at a single target(traditional battery ships could attack multiple targets). The Aurora design gave the ship some ability to to independently aim the entire eight-gun pack, but relied largely on maneuvering the entire ship in order to fire.

			The gun platform was then mounted on a hull design similar to the Sahar, and using the same engine systems and configuration. This gave the ship a top speed of 70PSL and manuverability unheard of in a capitol ship. Further, the Aurora was equiped with two more massive fixed-forward-facing hybrid cannons as well as four AP-cannons. Her high speed, high maneuverability, and variety of devastating yet independent armaments gave the ship a sizable edge.

			In combat simulations, the Aurora design faired substantially better than traditional battery ships, and only lost out due to it's inability to engage multiple targets. 			That was, until, it's remarkable engine arrangement had a chance to shine. Typically speaking, a ship will have it's engines arranged back-to-front, with most ships using standard 100/100 engines(engines capable of thrusting at 100% in both forward and reverse orientations. The ''G.S.S. Hudson'' had these, as well as four additional engines arranged at 45% angle off the center line. With these being just as powerful as the main engines, it meant the ship could quickly change directions without having to re-orient itself. Completely unheard of in capitol ship design, this capability allowed it to manuver much closer to enemy targets while still remaining agile enough to avoid much of the enemy fire.

The revision is extremly unique in that only two models, design revisions, prototypes, and final production-model vessels were created. Both ships were easily approved and went into production, however few were commissioned before the [[Long Night]].
