Eight different equip slots on the character take armor, the appropriate pieces are:

*Helmet
*Gloves/Guantlets
*Bracers
*Boots
*Vambrances
*Greaves
*Vest/Breastplate
*Pauldrons

Armor then comes in three flavors: leather, chain, and plate. From there, there are 3 different weights of armor: Light, Medium, and Heavy.

Leather armor can be made in any weight, and at its best(heavy) is about as protective as Chainmail.

Chainmail is always Medium, no exceptions.
