	Sometime during the [[Mage Wars#The Second Chaotic Period\|Second Chaotic Period]] of the [[Mage Wars]], the Nastrods conquered the regions surrounding Lake Bara and declared it their ancestral homeland. In the process, the local population was completely removed. While most prior residents were merely chased out, evidence of largescale genocide has since been discovered.		Sometime during the [[Mage Wars#The Second Chaotic Period\|Second Chaotic Period]] of the [[Mage Wars]], the Nastrods conquered the regions surrounding Lake Bara and declared it their ancestral homeland. 			The Nastrods thrived during the [[Alliance]] era, building a strong and diversified economic base, with [[Water's Grasp]] as their capitol. They made several attempts to cease control of neighboring [[Weagal]] though never militarily. Mostly the city states in the Baras region either attempted economic control or made plays to buy large pieces of property. This led to ongoing tensions and some racial discrimination. Although the Nostrodo would forever claim Weagal as their ancestral homeland, organized attempts to gain influence over the region ended around the mid [[Ages#The Fifth Age\|Fifth Age]].
