The dragons, in partnership with the [[Gudersnipe Foundation]] began to rebuild Sun's Beacon as an important hub of commerce on the [[Brutish Sea]].

			The locals were not entirely onboard with this. Throughout the Long Night they fought a never-ending guerilla war against Fate, and did not welcome the dragons as liberators. They further resented the Foundation, who built and controlled most of the city's infrastructure. The dragon's instituted laws designed to protect the property of citizens who fought during the Long Night, laws which over time made certain families extremely wealthy and others less so.

The delta contains rich, highly productive farmland; but is subject to flooding every spring and harsh ice flows by winter. For protection, the actual homes of the farmers are built atop a series of raised mounds. These are mostly made from natural hills, built up and protected from erosion by a variety of means. Because the farms are passed from generation to generation, the farmers invest in long-lived building materials such as stone. To share heat in winter and other resources, the farmers form small, close-knit communities.
