Throworphun is a slang-term used by the [[Crimson Blade]] during the [[Kamian Succession Wars]], and refers to an individual who is a third(or more)-generation war orphan. Most civilian casualties during the war were the result of orbital bombardment, which had a tendency to wipe out entire families. Thus, most war orphans were the children of soldiers.

As these children often grew up in orphanages funded by the [[Foundation]] and went to school at Foundation-run "Junior" academies, it was not uncommon for them to go on to fight in the same war their parents died in. It created a vicious and unfortunate cycle that would repeat itself many times over the course of the war.
