This is where I am putting all my half-remembered ideas that may or may not be in the design doc:
The forest was supposed to be crawling with abandoned toy robots.
Despite being a classical fantasy setting, the world has a subway and one chronically unemployed IT guy. This guy will also give you experience points if you pay him.
