(something)-mancy is a class of magic that specifically focuses around control of or over something. Many different recognized forms as exist, as well as countless smaller vaguries.
Mancies
A few of the major recognized mancies:
- Ecomancy - Power over Nature(specifically plants)
- Anomancy - Power over Animals
- Auromancy - Power over Auras or magical fields.
- Necromancy - Power over Death
History
Each Mancy was developed seperatly, at different times, and often came about simultainiously in multipl locations, or was re-invented multiple times. With the exception of Necromancy, which is in a class all it's own.
All of the Mancies were came into being during the Mage Wars and are still practiced by mages all over the Known Worlds.
