The Greater Continent is the name given to the main continent in the dimension of Arindell. The full extent of the continent itself is barely known, much like the extent of the dimension itself. During the Mage Wars much of the continent was held by the Marcon Alliance and housed both their capitol and jewel cities.

Large regions of the continent were never re-inhabited after the Mage Wars, including the bulk of the interior (the Marcon capitol on Lake Bentika is thought to be nearly untouched since it was abandoned in B.G.A. 300). Additionally, there are numerous areas left polluted and dangerous. The great explorer Finious Aberton died of radiation exposure after a visit to Centered.

History

The name was first used in the early First Chaotic Period by a scribe writing in Sun's Beacon, who recorded an effort to sail around the continent by early explorers. Archaeological excavations carried out in the Second Age found evidence that the expedition may have reached as far south as Seacrest Spire.

Locations

Dozens of locations on the greater continent have been mentioned so far, we'll start listing them here as soon as I feel like it.

High Mountain

High Mountain is the tallest mountain on the Greater Continent and the tallest of a series of peaks called the High Mountains. High Mountain is also home to the High Mountain Flight, a direct off-shoot of the Lowland Hills Flight which spawned Draco. High Mountain overlooks Stormreaver Valley and the human city of Arindell, capitol of the Unity Earth Sphere Alliance.

Peaks

Only the tallest is named, but three different peaks make up the High Mountains. The two smaller peaks are located almost directly north and south of High Mountain, with the city of Arindell located in the valley between High Mountain and the southern peak. Over a hundred other peaks make up the rest of the High Mountains, which together comprise a range south-to-west across the Greater Continent.

Flight

The High Mountain Flight has called High Mountain their home since before recorded history. According to Ikelani Nosval, High Mountain split from Lowland Hills sometime late in Classic Antiquity, at least a few millenia before the Fall of Roads and the Age of Darkness.
