MRPG Death Magic

Ok so I have this vary vauge idea that started by being I spired by Avatar, just in the way the elements move like they're an extension of the body. So my idea was an interesting daydream but the basis is that the soul is tethered to the body right? So when you die your soul comes untethered from your body and oases on. So what happens if the soul has a weak tether to the body? If it comes untethered while still alive and attaches itself to something else like nature. So when teathered to water it takes the form of the body if the soul chooses or if it attaches to a tree it just takes controll of the tree since its a living tree. Hypothetically it can also attach onto other souls so kind of like having a voice in your head. But the idea being that this girl comes detached from her body and is trying to find a way to reattach herself to her body. So the body is lifeless. It's in kind of a coma state so if it's damaged that's not good but it is still alive.
