A spellform is an object who's shape acts as a guide for casting a spell. Making the spellform out of a magical material will drastically increase the spell's power. Spellforms were initially invented during the Mage Wars as a way to more effectively make use of magical materials.
Spellforms are often encorporated into Ritual sites.
