The The Reunion of the Eighth Power is a pivitol story from The Path to Ascension. Hunter's Gudersnipe team, seperated for close to a decade, reunites to help Hunter fight Ryoga and the Army of Darkness.

This story is also the key transition between the Sixth Age and the Age of the Dragon, with the death of Hokori and most of the Slayer Dragons serving as the key event.

In story-order, this is the first appearance of Metanie Bur'I and Rebecca Bur'I, and is also the firct chronological appearance of Rebecca. Metanie first appears chronologically in Dusk, from The Concourse to Victory.
