This is the easy-to-read display page for the Video Map.
For anyone who stumbles across this and wants to know what the hell is going on, this is a page where I document the configuration for my workstation(ok, that's a lie, this is the page where I actually document it, this is just a page where I display the information in an easy-to-reference fashion). My setup is as follows: on my desk I have a total of 7 displays. 2 more dipsplays sit nearby, and a 10th display is in the other room(where my computers also are). These displays are driven by a bank of matrix switchers and drawer full of splitters. The system is absurdly complex and difficult to track. The system is absurdly complex and exists because I am insane.
My naming conventions are as follows: the computers get brief names based usually around some attribute or purpose. I named my first dual-processor rig Beowulf and that has been my workstation's name ever since. The monitors are named for the twelve apostles(yes, I am aware I only have 10, but don't think I'm not working on fixing that), and the network of switchers and splitters are named for biblical cities. Cables are given numbers if long and letters if short. Some also have roman numerals. A brief description of the arrangement is as follows: I have an 8 port 4k KVM for my main monitor, and an 8x8 matrix switcher for my other monitors. Augmenting those devices I have an additional 8 port HDMI switch, a 6x2 matrix switcher, and a variety of splitters and scalers. The pride of my collection is a VGA-to-HDMI scaler(that exists, you heard me), which allows me to display an analogue source on a digital screen.
This is all hooked up to a wide variety of sources, most notably a bank of computers. But I've also got a playstation 2, an NVR, and some other odds and ends. All of this does quite a few interesting things at the end of the day and I am quite impressed with myself. This is my hobby, and its a weird one.

Wire Rack
|
Since I now have the majority of gear racked on the telecome rack and am no longer using a shelf for a non-racked device, I think the time has come to build a proper rack map. This will be a complex process including rowspans because the rack is segmented into Us but some devices take up multiple Us. We're going to number from top-down:
U45
U45
Switched surge protector.
U44
U44/43
