Dorrium is a fine black powder used in Alchemical Enchanting which is believed to have originated as the remains of John Dorian, a man killed while attempting to steal Echbaldam. Dorrium was first made known when Military Police in Modia raided what turned out to be an illegal alchemy lab connected to the Cult of the Dragon. A strongroom within the lab held a fortune in rare and exotic materia including three grams of Adamantium(by itself worth approximately six million wingbeats at the time). Within the strong room behind a concealed false wall, authorities discovered a safe which had further been reinforced with a series of chains and padlocks. This led investigators to suspect the contents must be "more valuable than adamantium". Inside the safe, authorities found three jars of very fine black powder labeled with hand-written notes which identified it as "Dorrium".

Inquiries around the alchemical black market identified Dorrium as a sort of holy-grail among alchemists. Its origin was not known and it was not described in any literature. But the Craftsman in Arindell were known to be making bids for the substance, and Naomi Jusnekyou had a discrete but very large bounty offered for any quantities that could be secured. It is thought that Dorrium ended up being used in several Slayer Dragon weapons and armors.

The exact nature of Dorrium is not known outside very serious alchemy circles. The top-qualified alchemists who had the chance to work with it would describe it only as "extremely potent". Based on the name and appearance, Dorrium is supected to have been made from the earthly remains of an unidentified thief called John Dorian.
