This is a bunch of ideas for the kickstarter campaign to fund MV:

Rewards

Ok, simple breakdown:

  • $5 - gets your name mentioned in the credits as a contributor
  • $10 - you get to name a rare weapon that will be placed in the game. This is subject to some discresion(the name cannot be vulgar, overtly racist, or otherwise hurtful). The weapon you name will be modeled and given attributes and stats, then added to the loot table(or, if its interesting enough, maybe hidden in a secret corner somewhere for you to find).
  • $20 - gets you a free copy of the game when it comes out
  • $30 - gets you a free game "limited edition" CD copy of the game(all other distributions will be digital) and a thank-you letter from the design team.
  • $50 - gets your name placed on a plaque hidden in one of the game's secret areas.
  • $100 - your name and picture included in said secret chamber
  • $200 - your face on an NPC. You will have to provide proper source photographs, but our talented character artist will render your face on a non-playter-character(who will also get your name or a name of your choice within reason) to be included in the game. You might serve an important role in the storyline, or just get to mill about in the background somewhere, it's tough to say, but you will appear!
  • $500 - In addition to everything else, you will be counted among the few, the proud, the extremely rare owners of a complete, hard-bound, printed on actual paper, strategy guide. The guide will include a complete walkthrough, developers notes, cheats, and a guide to every single Easter egg and hidden area in the game. Awesome weapons, behind the scenes look, and content that was never meant to be seen by any but the most devoted players, that's what you get.
  • $1,000 - you'll get a(slightly) customized copy of the game. Essentially, our star designer will talk with you, and make a few mods(within reason) to your specifications. This modified game will available only for you, no one else gets to have it or even see it if you don't feel like sharing.

Budget

$35,000 is the goal.

That pays for:

  • Software - $10,000
    • Goes to cover 3D Studio MAX and Photoshop licences for the design team,
    • Pay back the costs of licensing the engine technology and tools
  • Labor - $20,000
    • This project is expected to take a year or more, this money goes to the people doing all the work(which avergaes out to about $5 an hour, dirt-cheap for a game developer)
  • Assets and Outside Help - $3,000
    • Pays for having some work done to fill in the gaps, coding help and what not, our team can't do everything
  • Miscellaneous - $2,000
    • Everything Else I haven't already thought of.
