Considered the seminal work on the subject of the Arugolaa, the actual author is unknown. Metchef's On Arogulaaology was written in the late Second Chaotic Period, or more likely assembled out of older documents. The name is either fictitious, an acronym, or more likely lost to time.

Much like similar Subject Bookss, On Arogulaaology was widely reprinted and distributed, with commentaries added, and became the definitive source on information about the Arogulaa. The original copy is distinctive for a wealth of information that is factual accurate, but completely lacking the biological explanations. For example, the chapter on raising the titular species as war steeds, states they must be hatched and kept in seclusion for six months, but does not provide any reasoning. It was only centuries after the Mage Wars ended, that the reasoning was discovered.
