Osiris
Osiris is the name of a large island and city located roughly midway between the Pirates' capitol of Ronin and the infamous settlement at Receon. Next to Ronin it is the largest population center in Pirate waters. Osiris is also the site of the pirate's Naval Academy as well as the chief production center for cannons. It is also the largest shipyard in pirate waters, though hulls are often built elsewhere and only brought to Osiris for fitting out.
Geography
The island is mostly low, with the average height above sea level in the coastal regions at only ten feet. Towards the center and along the norther side the terrain becomes high and craggy, with two points reaching over 1,000 ft elevation.
Osiris among a small handful of places where coal is relatively plentiful, making it an ideal site for the forging of cannons and other large metal pieces.
The Osiris Naval Academy (most entitled 'The Naval Academy at Osiris', as if there were any other), is a massive city within the city. Originally conceived as a university, wherein the training and housing of future naval officers has taken over the entire campus.
