Relicquist

A Relicquist(plural: Relicqui) is the colloquial name for the vagabond adventurers on the Agras Plain. The exact origin of the term is unknown, though the etymology obviously comes from relics. During the Mage Wars, nearly any enchanted item was called a "relic", only later was the term reserved for Mythical Age Relics. By the start of the Second Chaotic Period, there were many unique and powerful enchanted items. Weapons and armor were the most common, though staves, clothing, jewelry, and other items were known. These were not common enchanted pieces that, but things made during the Dynastic Period. The kind of highly-developed, advanced items that had been made for kings and generals in an era now past. When the dynasties fell, they made their way into the hands of common adventurers.

Relicqui were set apart because by the possession of these items, which usually made them strong enough to hang on to them. A mundane individual could be imbued with nigh-mythical powers by strapping on a set of enchanted armor and drawing a magic sword. They became very powerful. Some established themselves as warlords, others went in search of greater items or simple wealth. But many, must particularly in the Agras region

The name was retroactively applied to similar individuals elsewhere
