The Sacred Smiths

The Sacred Smiths are a proposed fraternal order of blacksmiths and enchanters who lived during the Mage Wars and passed down their knowledge from generation to generation. These smiths practiced an early form of Cardinalism and were swrn to honor the One King with every fall of their hammers. Much like the quasi-mythical alchemist David, many Magical Artifacts are attributed to them. It is also claimed that the Craftsmen from the Alliance-era were a direct offshoot of this cult.
Though some evidence for such generational groups of makers does exist, The Sacred Smiths are largely believed to by completely mythical in nature. Their connection either to the Atayans or the Craftsmen is suppositional at best.
