The Sacred Smiths

The Sacred Smiths are a proposed fraternal order of blacksmiths and enchanters who lived during the Mage Wars and passed down their knowledge from generation to generation. These smiths practiced an early form of Cardinalism and were sworn to honor the One King with every fall of their hammers. Much like the quasi-mythical alchemist David, many Magical Artifacts are attributed to them. It is also claimed that the Craftsmen from the Alliance-era were a direct offshoot of this cult.

Though groups like the Iron Tortoise Conclave do exist, the Sacred Smiths are largely believed to by completely mythical in nature. Their connection either to the Atayans or the Craftsmen is suppositional at best. The name is referenced in some rites by the later iteration of the Copper Tortoise Conclave, but not before the Second Age, pointing to the group taking on the myth as opposed to proving it real.
