An FTL Fabrication Facility is an industrial complex that has the ability to produce Python Reactors for faster-than-light propulsion. In particular, the term refers to a site capable of building large FTL drives needed to propel capital-class warships(or vessels of a similar size).

While many such facilities exist, they are still considered very rare, and production output is important. The largest known facility is the one operated by Fairview, Ltd, which produces drives for the Crimson Blade and many of the Gudersnipe Foundation's civilian merchant fleet. The Alliance, in tern, has about a dozen large-scale(though not on the scale of Fairview) plants scattered throughout it's memmber worlds.

Notable, the small nation of Bur'I constructed an FTL-works late in the Sixth Age, and became an important economic hub for the region, as no one else within a thousand light years had such a plant.
