The Gudersnipe School Geological Survey, or GSGS for short, is a branch of the Foundation administered by the school which is responsible for producing, maintaining, and updating detailed topographical maps os essentially anywhere the Foundation might need to send troops, ever.

Maps are typically produced via sattelie imagery and catalogued as part of the Foundation's database. Depending on the region, some of the maps are made available for publis use. Every mapped quadrangle has been printed at some point or another, however no single archive contains a complete set of paper maps.

The GSGS database is estimated to have fully mapped roughly 10% of the surface area of the Known Worlds. The maps are more complete on round worlds, however many flat dimensions remain largely unchecked. Even the dimension that contains Arindell has not been fully mapped.
