Your adventurers have discovered or otherwise received a treasure map! The map lists the coordinates of an island upon which a fabulous treasure has been hidden. In order to locate the treasure, they will have to gain passage to the island (either by owning a small boat of their own or hiring one).

The map, of course, does not have the characters simply following a dotted line. Instead, it only indicates where the first of several clues or puzzles are located. Each clue, or solution, reveals the next. The end will be a short dungeon and a boss fight. Maybe they can fight a giant lizard, or a gryphon, or a few trolls?

Rival parties of PCs may collaborate, or compete for the treasure and clues; or there might be NPC rivals.
