Magefire is a now-lost magical technique used heavily throughout the Mage Wars. Contrary to what the name implies, it is not a fire-based or even elemental attack. Magefire is based around the two most powerful magic-types: light, and dark. It is believed to hold the key to unlocking the Ancient Magi Spiral Attack.

History

The term Magefire was used widely throughout the mage Wars, but often only in reference. The earliest written accounts date from the mid Golden Age, and are widely considered inacurate. Full information about the technique is sketchy at best, as mages were not keen on writing down their secrets.

Most of what is know about Magefire comes from secondary sources, writers in the early Second Age who wrote treatise on the Mage Wars, referencing presumably now-lost works.

Anecdotal evidence suggests the technique may have existed as far back as High Tower and may even have been invented by Nathan Searlin himself.
