Orin was the seventh Pendragon of Slayer Dragons, anointed originally by Emily Pode and as Pendragon by her successor, Tanner Ruegg. He served 51 years as a Slayer Dragon but only two as Pendragon.
Like Tanner, he is often remembered as rather a placeholder than a true Pendragon; however his time carrying the sword was so short that it is often completely overlooked. Also unlike Tanner he led a much more exciting life.
In an failed attempt to do his old friend and mentor proud, Orin chose Johan Teague to succeed his as Pendragon, a move later known as 'Orin's Folly'.
