Raven's Day

Held on the 3rd day of the 3rd month, Raven's Day is a local holiday in Arindell. The nature and mode of celebration for the holiday has changed over the course of the Ages, but most typically takes the form of some kind of festival. Schools usually celebrate in the form of a 'Winter Festival' while many street fairs are held, weather permitting.

Origin

The holiday owes its roots to Emily, the 5th Pendragon of Slayer Dragons who kept ravens as pets throughout her life. The exact date of Raven's Day wasn't fixed until sometime after her death, but she held a feast each year in honor of her pets called 'The Raven's Banquet' to which being invited was seen as a great honor. Emily traditionally held this feast in late winter in order to raise her guest's spirits and celebrate the coming spring.
