Rescue Return

The Rescue-Return is a system used by Gudersnipe School to keep it's more valuable students alive. The exact mechanics are not made public, but through means of the GATE system, a student can be transported out of a bad situation from nearly anywhere in the verse, and arrive safely back at Gudersnipe School.

The system is not without its faults, however. It is intended to only trigger in the event of a "sudden" death, and still only has around an 80% success rate. This is of course better than the 100% mortality rate that NOT having it would cause.

Few students ever survive the entire term and distinguish themselves without ever using the return system, and accomplishing this feat is one of the pre-requisites for the Star Student citation.

There is no way to manually activate the system, and, among other safeguards against abuse, it will not activate in the event of a suicide.
