The Late Draconic Wars, heralded in song and story, was a war of extermination begun around N.D. 97, though the seeds of this conflict go back much further. Following the death of The Broodmother earlier in the century, a combined alliance of flights from the then-new Trans-Draconic Federation banded together and wiped out what was left of Demi Flight. All of the dragons worshipers who had been involved in the killing of the Broodmother were killed. The dragons who did not die defending the eerie were captured and put to the question. The vast majority of previously fallen dragons were executed. A few had their wings torn and were "imprisoned" by being placed in remote regions of the Greater Continent. Left unable to fly, these dragons would never be able to walk to anywhere useful, and it was expected they would slowly starve.

Very little was ever known to humans about this event. The dragons would only ever say that those fallen had been "sent away" or "put to the question".
