Mage Wars RPG offers a few more selections for materials than are mentioned in the Course Books.
Material Types
Metal
- Steel
- Silver
- Runesteel
- Starmetal
- Adamantium
- Mithril
- Orichalcum
- Dragonite
Metals come in three forms: ore, filings, and ingots. Only ingots are used in crafting, the other two must be refined.
Wood
- Oak
- Yew
- Darkwood
- Ironwood
- Runewood
Wood comes in three forms: pieces, bundles, and bales. Unlike metal, pieces are the number that are actually used, and bundles and bales break down into pieces. This requires no special ability or skill. 10 pieces make a bundle, 5 bundles make a bale.
Leather
- Cowhide
- Pigleather
- Enchanted Leather
- Green Leather
- Runeleather
- Mystical Leather
- Dragonskin
Leather simple comes in three forms: chips, strips, and stacks. Stacks are just 10 strips. Chips are leftover pieces generated by the crafting process. Weapons typically call for strips and chips, while armor calls for stacks. Typically speaking, each time a strip is used it will leave one chip behind.
