An Effect Kill is similar to a death effect in that the target is killed without receiving lethal damage. However, in an effect kill, the target dies as the result of an effect that could reasonably be considered deadly. In Mage Wars PnP effect kills can be the result of a flourish. In Mage Wars RPG, its usually a spell or a dungeon mechanic.
