The Progenitors, or Progenitor Civilization, is a name often ascribed to the Eladamri or Ancients, but more accurately refers to the race that came before them. The region of space where the progenitors are believed to reside is identified as "where the Ancients dare not tread";–– itself guarded by the 'Coalition of Wings', for reasons unknown, from any contact with outsiders.
