The Drakenplate is a suit of enchanted armor from the Mage Wars that was considered legendary in its own time. The full suit was lost during the final years of the Second Chaotic Period, probably scattered to keep it out of the hands of Lieber.

The full armor included 9 pieces:

  • Breastplate
  • Right Shoulder
  • Left Shoulder
  • Right Arm
  • Left Arm
  • Right Leg
  • Left Leg
  • Right Boot
  • Left Boot

Each piece made from layered Orichalcum and Adamantium between plates of forged silver. It is believed the maker did not have the ability to created alloys of magical materials and instead went with the layered approach to gain the benefits of both. The Drakenplate is unusual for its especially thick plates, about an inch thick. This would be far too heavy for any ordinary human to wear, if the plates were not light as a feather. The armor also gave the wearer dramatically improved strength, speed, and endurance.

The armor was originally painted black, with several large spikes and knobs. In addition, inlays made from Alchemical Glass are found on every plate, along with

Enchantments

Aside from the standard components, the Drakenplate includes extensive enchantments to improve the wearer's combat abilities, while the base materials serve as powerful magical amplifiers. It is believed this was made for a skilled mage who lacked the physical prowess to be a battling sorcerer.

The individual metal layers each have a different base imbue property, a variety of standard enchantments,

History

The Drakenplate is among the few named armors with a well-documented origin. It was commissioned in 1400 B.G.A. for one of the arch mages of the Marcon Alliance, specifically for the IVth Inevitable of the Lord of Chaos. Befitting a living god, no expense was spared. The armor was completed in B.G.A. 1403, but was never worn by The Inevitable.

Instead, the finished armor was immediately stolen by the Wizard Breakers and used to kill all four Lords of Chaos.
