MPNP Character Creation

You will begin by choosing your class.

Character creation in Mage Wars RPG will be somewhat simpler than the Mage Wars PnP version. Race only impacts stats and skills, and you do not get to choose your grandparents.

Character Creation Steps

Obviously, a lot needs to be filled in here.

Step 1: Stats, Skills, Proficiencies

Stats

Characters begin with 3 points in each stat and one class "favored" stat which begins at 8. The player may then choose any two stats to increase by an additional +5. Racial bonuses are also counted at this time.

Proficiencies

Each proficiency begins at 0. Characters get 40 skill-points to distribute as they see fit. Additionally, each class has 2 favored proficiencies that receive a +5 bonus. Proficiencies cannot be raised above 10 at this time, with the exception of Favored proficiencies that can be raised to 15.

Skills

Each Skill begins with 1 point, then players have 3 points to distribute to their skills as they see fit.

Step 2: Character Sheet

(Note: this will obviously be done electronically for the game)

Notes

The character sheet will need to include:

• Unbuffed Stats
• Unbuffed Stat Modifiers
• Buffed Stats
• Buffed Stat Modifiers
