Following the deaths of six Slayer Dragons late in the Sixth Age, the Sixth Age was brought to a premature close and the Age of the Dragon began. Though most historians would acknowledge the change, it was none the less an important period.

The Age of the Dragon lasted for fifty years and ended with the begining of the Long Night.

Though not officially considered the Seventh Age, dates in the Age of the Dragon are sometimes appended with a 7 according to the A.Y. System.
