Welcome to the item shop! Here we will help you purchase crafted items in the Mage Wars RPG Item Creation System(TM).

This process is going to depend on price modifiers. These are tracked and added up at the end, THEN multiplied by the base price(you don't get to make an item "poor" so it costs nothing, then say it has +infinity and is free). Players choosing starting equipment should only complete steps 1-4.

Weapons, Armor, and Robes

Calculating Base Price and Modifier

Step 1: Choose your item:

Write down the Base Price

Step 2: Choose your quality:

  • Poor - x0
  • Simple - x1
  • Fine - x2
  • Very Fine - x5

Note: Some items are not available in Poor.

Step 3: Choose your + value(weapons only)

  • Each +1 is x3 price modifier
  • So, a +2 would be x6, etc.

Step 4: Exotic Properties:

  • Does your item have any Exotic Properties?
  • Some items naturally have an exotic property, this will be listed in the Special section of the weapon description.
  • If it doesn't, you can add one here!

Exotic Property Modifiers:

  • Tiny, Very Small, and Small - x1
  • Medium - x2
  • Large - x3
  • Very Large and Immense - x5

Step 5: Materials!

  • It your item made from any special materials? Is the wood magic? Is the metal poisoned?
  • See the Material Modifiers page for how this affects the value.

Step 5: Choose Your Enchantments:

  • There's no easy way to do this, see the Enchanting page for details.
  • Note that only Basic and Alchemical Enchantments can be purchased.

Calculating Final Price

This should actually be pretty simple, so this section is mainly about examples. Essentially, total up your modifiers, and multiply by the base price. Here are a few basic examples that starting players will want:

  • +1 Fine Longsword: Total value: 180 Gold. Breakdown: Base price of 36, x2 for Fine, x3 for +1.
  • Simple Full Plate: Total value: 986 Gold. Breakdown: Base price of 986, x1 for simple, nothing else to it.

Calculating Minimum Level

See Item Minimum Levels for the calculations. Starting players can ignore this for their starting equipment.

Other Items

  • See MRPG Potions to buy potions. Note: You cannot yet buy potions
